Tips and tricks for caring for your embossed or smooth leather bag
As you already know, all our models are made from 100% quality leather of food origin (we don't work with exotic leather, only cowhide). But what you may not know is how to care for this type of bag so that it lasts for many years in perfect condition. That's why today we're sharing a series of recommendations and homemade tricks for caring for each type of leather finish.
WHAT IS LEATHER FINISH?
First of all, we must distinguish between the 3 types of leather finishes we work with in our workshop on a continuous basis : crocodile-embossed cowhide , smooth or grained cowhide , and split leather.

Coconut-embossed cowhide has a soft feel and a certain rigidity. It generally makes bags made from this leather more sturdy , such as the Otilia crossbody bag and the Virginia shopper.

Smooth or grained cowhide is a type of rounded leather with a soft feel and less rigid than embossed leather. You can see it in the Martina and Carolina models, which give the bag a light, casual look.

HOW TO CARE FOR THIS TYPE OF BAGS?
As for the CARE of these two types of leather, both embossed and smooth, they hardly require any care, at least for the first few years, but WE ALWAYS RECOMMEND avoiding direct contact with water, direct and prolonged exposure to sunlight, and perfumes with a high alcohol content. Our advice is to store your bag in its case whenever it's not in use. If over the years you notice that the leather has lost its shine or is very damaged, we'll leave you with our HOMEMADE TRICK , which consists of applying a small layer of cream with a cotton cloth and spreading it gently over the leather (without touching the hardware or zippers). It's very important that it's an alcohol-free cream; we always use the blue Nivea can!
